Big Rig Truck Hits Car on I-5 Freeway in Stanislaus County
STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. (Aug. 4, 2022) — A fatal crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway happened early Thursday morning near Howard Road in the Westley area.
The crash occurred about 1:15 a.m. after the tan Lexus apparently was struck in the slow lane, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch report. Authorities reported an oncoming semi-truck hit the vehicle due to unknown circumstances on the freeway.
The Stanislaus County Fire Department responded to the scene and used the Jaws of Life to rescue at least one person from the Lexus.
It’s unknown at this time how many people were in the Lexus at the time of the crash. However, at least one person suffered fatal injuries, but there are no further details.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
