Fatal Crash Interstate 505 and Allendale Road in Solano County

ALLENDALE, Calif. (Jan. 8, 2026) — A wrong-way driver died and another motorist was badly injured in a crash Wednesday night on Interstate 505 near the Allendale Road on-ramp in Solano County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash, which prompted a SigAlert, was reported on Jan. 7th shortly after 6:20 p.m. roughly nine miles north of Vacaville.
The driver of a gold Toyota Prius was traveling northbound on southbound I-505 when their vehicle crashed head-on into a southbound Subaru Forester.
The driver of the Prius suffered fatal injuries and the driver in the Subaru was hospitalized with major injuries, the CHP said. The CHP report also mentions a Toyota RAV4, a white Chevrolet Tahoe, and a dark blue Dodge truck that may have been involved, hit by debris or witnesses to the crash.
All southbound lanes of I-505 were blocked as officers conducted an on-scene investigation. A SigAlert was issued at approximately 6:38 p.m., warning motorists of extended delays while emergency crews and investigators worked the scene. Vacaville Fire Department responded, and the Solano County Coroner was later notified.
CHP requested multiple evidence tows, and at least two vehicles. Meanwhile, the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant information is urged to contact the California Highway Patrol.
