One Killed, One Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision
RICHMOND, Calif. (Nov. 29, 2023) — A 65-year-old man has died and another person was hospitalized after a fatal crash on the Interstate 80 Freeway on Tuesday night in Richmond.
The three-vehicle collision occurred on the eastbound I-80 at around 9:52 p.m. on Nov. 28th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a blue Lexus GS 350 sedan, a Nissan Frontier pickup truck and a Toyota RAV4 SUV were involved in the crash and blocking the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the freeway near the Carlson Boulevard off ramp.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the accident. The Toyota SUV driver with the last name Torres managed to get out of their vehicle, but was unable to walk due to injuries, the report said. The person was transported by ambulance to Kaiser Richmond Medical Center.
Meanwhile, a 65-year-old man with the last name Rodriguez Sanchez from the pickup truck sustained major injuries and died following the traffic accident, the report said. Several family members of the deceased person were at the scene, the report said.
The Richmond Police Department sent police to investigate the fatal crash on the Interstate 80 Freeway.
