Fatal Crash Involving Golf Cart and Car on 22nd Avenue, Desert Hot Springs

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, Calif., (April 15, 2026) — A fatal crash involving a car and a golf cart happened Wednesday afternoon on 22nd Avenue at Marshall Road in the Sky Valley area of Desert Hot Springs.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 4:38 p.m. on April 15th between a blue Toyota vehicle and a John Deere Gator golf cart. According to the California Highway Patrol, the Toyota reportedly collided with the golf cart, resulting in at least one vehicle catching fire.
Emergency responders, including the Riverside County Fire Department, were dispatched to the scene. Despite their swift response, the person in the golf cart was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:53 p.m. by fire personnel. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed at this time.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner were also notified and are actively involved in the ongoing investigation. Law enforcement authorities are seeking any witnesses who may have observed the collision to aid in their inquiries.
