Fatal Crash Involving Tractor on Rowlee Road in Buttonwillow
Woman, 21, Killed in Crash into John Deere Tractor
BUTTONWILLOW, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2023) — A 21-year-old Bakersfield woman died Monday morning after her vehicle crashed into a green John Deere tractor at Rowlee Road, in Buttonwillow.
The collision occurred at around 6:56 a.m. on November 6th, just south of Burbank Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The young woman was driving a 2016 Nissan Sentra northbound on Rowlee Road behind a northbound John Deere Tractor.
Police reported the Nissan did not slow down as it approached the tractor which was traveling at approximately 20 miles per hour. The car crashed into the rear backhoe bucket on the tractor.
Unfortunately, the woman driving the Nissan died at the scene of the crash and the tractor driver sustained minor injuries.
CHP officials do not suspect alcohol or drugs were a factor in the fatal crash on Rowlee Road.
