Deadly Collision at Jackson and Watt in Rosemont
Sacramento County, CA (March 12, 2025) – One person died in a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning at Watt Avenue and Jackson Road in the Rosemont area of Sacramento County.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident was reported at approximately 5:57 AM on March 12th, when a white SUV collided with a 988 Loader construction vehicle. The crash resulted in a fatality, and authorities immediately responded to the scene.
Both northbound and southbound lanes near the intersection were closed for several hours while emergency personnel worked to clear the wreckage and investigate the cause of the crash.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) dispatched multiple units, including Fire and Emergency Services, to the scene.
At around 6:40 AM, CHP closed the southbound lanes on Watt Avenue just south of Jackson Road, with traffic backed up as officials directed vehicles onto alternative routes. The northbound lanes remained shut down for the duration of the investigation.
The identity of the victim has not been released, but once family members are notified the coroner will provide the person’s name and age.
This crash serves as a stark reminder of the dangers on the roadways, particularly in high-traffic areas like Watt Avenue. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and remain aware of their surroundings.
