Fiery, Head-on Crash in Acampo
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. (August 25, 2023) — A fatal head-on crash happened Friday at Acampo Road and Lower Sacramento Road near Lodi in San Joaquin County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 3:33 a.m. on August 25th in the Acampo area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a black SUV and a silver SUV were involved. The black SUV caught on fire and became fully engulfed in flames after the collision. Also, there was debris scattered across the roadway.
At least one person died at the scene of the crash. The age, gender and identity of the person or people who died was not released.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault. The roadway reopened to traffic by 6:24 a.m. the same day.
