FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (April 19, 2023) — A fatal crash at Manning Avenue and James Road happened Wednesday morning in Tranquility, Fresno County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection around 9:30 a.m. on April 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver of a Chevrolet Silverado service truck was traveling north on James Road. The motorist allegedly drove through a stop sign at Manning Avenue and crashed into a white Ford F-150 pickup truck occupied by two people. The Ford crashed into a nearby field.
A 48-year-old man became trapped on the passenger side of the Ford pickup. The man died at the scene and the the driver was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. Meanwhile, the Fresno County Sheriff Coroner responded to the scene and will release the fatality victim’s name and age after notifying relatives.
The California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation.
