2-Vehicle Crash at Mariposa and Murphy Roads

STOCKTON, Calif. (Aug. 3, 2022) — A fatal crash happened Tuesday evening at Mariposa Road and Murphy Road in the Stockton area.

The deadly crash occurred about 5:44 p.m. on August 2nd, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.

The drivers of a white GMC Yukon SUV and a black sedan were involved. The CHP report mentions a witness reported the SUV was allegedly weaving through traffic and tailgating prior to the deadly crash.

The SUV wound up in a ditch following the crash and the black sedan overturned. One person suffered major injuries and died at the scene. The San Jose Sheriff’s Office sent the coroner to the intersection.

Meanwhile, tow trucks removed both vehicles for evidence.
