2 Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash Near Patterson, California
STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 23, 2021) — A fatal crash near Patterson at Main Street between Jennings Road and Carpenter Road took place early Thursday morning in Stanislaus County.
The two-vehicle collision happened about 4:50 a.m. on Sept. 23rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 47-year-old Turlock woman was driving a Nissan sedan westbound on West Main Street. The vehicle suddenly drifted into the oncoming traffic on the eastbound side of the roadway, the CHP said. That is when the Nissan crashed head-on with a Ford pickup truck. The 69-year-old Patterson man driving the pickup died along with the Turlock woman. .
The pickup truck became engulfed in flames following the collision and the driver was still inside at the time, police said in the report.
Police closed down the entire roadway due to the fatal crash near Patterson.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff Coroner responded to the scene. Tow trucks removed both vehicles.
Meanwhile, investigators seek to determine fault for the traffic accident.
