Deadly Crash on North Bear Creek Drive
MERCED, Calif. (June 16, 2023) — A fatal, two-vehicle crash happened Thursday night on East North Bear Creek Drive at North Parsons Avenue in Merced.
The collision occurred around 11:11 p.m. on June 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
A driver in a white BMW reportedly hit a blue Honda Civic in a fiery crash at the Merced intersection.
The white vehicle also crashed into a tree and caught on fire after the crash, the report said. The Merced Fire Department responded to help those involved. The driver in the BMW was hurt and unable to speak, the report said.
At least one person died at the scene and another person was injured, but there are no specific details at this time.
Tow trucks removed the two vehicles including the white car which was completely burned up, the report said.
Investigators are working to determine liability for the crash on North Bear Creek Drive.
