2-Vehicle Crash at Old Stage Road and Associated Lane
SALINAS, Calif. (Aug. 9, 2022) — A fatal crash at Old Stage Road and Associated Lane happened Monday night in the Gonzales area, about 16 miles south of Salinas in Monterey County.
The traffic accident occurred about 8:45 p.m. on August 8th in Monterey County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials initially reported it as a solo-vehicle crash, but added there was a second vehicle involved. The Gonzales Police Department and CHP officers responded to the scene and closed down the northbound lanes of Old Stage Road. They located a Chevrolet Silverado with major front-end damage and a broken front axle. There are no further details about the vehicles.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded and at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s unknown at this time how many in total were hurt in the Old Stage Road crash.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the Gonzales crash.
