ANTELOPE, Calif. (Sept. 21, 2023) — A 16-year-old boy died and two other teens were injured in a fatal crash at Antelope Road and Don Julio boulevard in Antelope.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday night Sept. 20th on Antelope Road, according to CBS News.
The California Highway Patrol North Sacramento Station reported Reuben Anikhimik, 16, was driving a sedan westbound along Antelope Road, Fox 40 News said. Two passengers were traveling with him, a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl.
Police believe the sedan suddenly changed lanes and collided with a pickup truck traveling in the same direction, the CHP said.
The driver in the sedan reportedly lost control and also crashed into a pole.
Paramedics responded and rushed all three juveniles from the sedan to the hospital for treatment of major injuries. However, Reuben Anikhimik died at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck was not injured in the collision.
The case remains under investigation.
