Fatal Crash on Avenue 21 near Road 28 1/2 in Madera County

MADERA, Calif., (May 22, 2026) — A tragic collision claimed the life of an 18-year-old man and injured a woman following a two-vehicle crash on Avenue 21 near Road 28 1/2 in Valley Lake Ranchos, Madera County.

The fatal incident occurred on May 22nd at approximately 10:31 a.m. and involved two vehicles: the man’s white Ford Escape and a Jeep driven by the woman. Emergency services, including fire and EMS, were promptly dispatched to the scene, as well as Madera County Sheriff’s Office units.

Man, 18, Killed; Woman Seriously Injured

The young man driving southbound in the Ford reportedly ran through a stop sign at the intersection and collided with the woman’s Jeep. The Ford reportedly came to a stop after it crashed into a tree. The man was thrown out of the vehicle.

First responders, including fire and medical personnel, reached the crash site shortly after it occurred. Despite their efforts, the collision resulted in the man’s death. The woman suffered moderate to major injuries and was hospitalized.
