Fatal Crash on Highway 58, I-5 Freeway in Buttonwillow

Head-on Collision on Hageman Road, State Route Highway 58

KERN COUNTY, Calif. (Feb. 3, 2025) — A fatal, head-on crash happened Sunday on Highway 58 near the Interstate 5 Freeway in Buttonwillow in the San Joaquin Valley.

The traffic accident occurred on SR-58 or Hageman Road around 5:57 p.m. on Feb. 2nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicle collision occurred in the westbound lanes of Highway 58 due to unknown circumstances.

First responders assisted those involved and confirmed at least one death after the crash.

The CHP conducted an investigation and tow trucks removed both vehicles involved in the crash to be held for evidence.
