Deadly Crash Shuts Down Stretch of Highway 58 in Kern County

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (June 27, 2025) — A portion of Highway 58 remains closed following a fatal crash that occurred Friday morning, according to authorities.

The California Highway Patrol confirmed that officers responded to the scene of a deadly collision near Greeley Road. The closure affects the stretch of Highway 58 between Superior Road and Nord Avenue.

Caltrans District 6 announced the closure via social media and advised drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Officials have not provided an estimated time for the highway to reopen.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
