SAN DIEGO, Calif. (May 26, 2023) — A fatal crash involving an overturned truck happened on the Interstate 805 Freeway in Clairemont.
One person died in the collision on Friday, May 26th around 1 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Police responded and closed down the freeway connector due to the crash.
The white stake bed truck overturned on the southbound side of the freeway, near state Route 52, the California Highway Patrol said.
When the truck overturned, several bags of cement and other materials fell out and landed on top of a gray SUV and blocked the roadway, the CHP said. One person died in the collision, but there are no further details at this time.
Authorities had to closed down the southbound I-805 connector to eastbound SR-52.
Investigators are working on the case to determine liability for the collision.
Witnesses are urged to call the CHP.
