Two People Killed in Lake Hughes Crash
LAKE HUGHES, Calif. (June 27, 2022) – A father and son died Sunday night in a solo crash on Pine Canyon Road in the Lake Hughes area northwest of Palmdale.
The collision occurred about 10:15 p.m. on June 26th when a pickup truck occupied by two people went off the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver and passenger in a white Chevrolet S10 pickup truck crashed down a ravine. William Dunn, 56, and his passenger and son, Travis Dunn, 22, were fatally injured in the crash, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Also, a witness and female friend of the victims alerted the California Highway Patrol about the crash. The woman told dispatchers her two friends both died in the crash near Tweedy Lake Road.
Responding Los Angeles County firefighters confirmed the deaths about 10:44 p.m., according to the CHP dispatch report.
Finally, investigators are piecing together what happened and the Los Angeles county Sheriff Coroner will release the names of the victims after next of kin are notified.
