Passenger Killed in Solo Crash
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Oct. 3, 2023) — A fatal crash happened early Saturday on South Grade Road, just north of State Route 76 in the Palomar Mountain area of San Diego.
The solo-vehicle collision occurred at around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 30th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a 20-year-old Escondido man identified as Jean Ramirez was driving a black Subaru with a female passenger in the front seat.
The vehicle reportedly went off the roadway and down a hill before it crashed and overturned into a tree.
The unidentified female passenger sustained major injuries and died at the scene.
However, the driver, Jean Ramirez, survived with serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.
Police later arrested him at the hospital on suspicion of driving under the influence.
