One Killed in Crash on 710 Freeway in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. (May 26, 2022) – A fatal multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on the Long Beach (710) Freeway happened Thursday morning in Long Beach.
The deadly collision occurred about 3:02 a.m. on May 26th near the North Long Beach Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reports the vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of the Long Beach (710) Freeway. All three vehicles were stopped in the middle lanes of the freeway following the collision. The vehicles were the semi-truck, a white Toyota Tundra and a white sedan,

One of the vehicles apparently caught on fire after colliding with the big rig truck, police said. Also, the driver became trapped inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, investigators closed down all lanes of the freeway for several hours.
Finally, police will determine liability for the fatal crash on the 710 Freeway.
