Driver Killed in Crash into Tanker Truck on SR-184
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2024) — A deadly crash involving a Freightliner truck happened last night on Weedpatch Highway at East Fairview Road in Bakersfield just north of Lamont.
The two-vehicle collision on State Route 184 resulted in one fatality, according to a report by Bakersfield Now.
The California Highway Patrol reports it happened at around 9:03 p.m. on November 13th, 2024,
The driver of the Freightliner was pulling two tank trailers while traveling along East Fairview Road. The truck driver pulled out from the side street into the northbound lanes of Weedpatch Highway. The truck crossed directly into the path of the oncoming northbound Nissan.
Unfortunately, the driver in the Nissan was unable to avoid hitting the truck on this dark stretch of highway and crashed into the left side of the first tank trailer of the Freightliner.
Paramedics responded to help the driver of the Nissan, but unfortunately the person died at the scene.
The driver of the Freightliner is cooperating with the investigation.
