1 Dead, 5 Injured in South Lake Tahoe Car Accident
SOUTH LAKE, Calif. (July 7, 2023) — A fatal, two-vehicle crash happened Wednesday at Pioneer Trail and Fairmeadow Trail in South Lake Tahoe.
The head-on traffic accident occurred around 5:31 p.m. on July 5th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a 2013 Subaru Impreza and a 2018 Tesla Model 3 sedan were involved in the collision. Both of them sustained major front-end damage, but the report did not say what led to the accident.
One person suffered fatal injuries and five others were hospitalized after the collision, according to the Sacramento Bee.
Paramedics responded and rushed four people from the Tesla to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment of moderate to major injuries. The Tesla’s driver suffered major injuries and was transported by ambulance to Barton Memorial Hospital.
The unidentified driver of the Subaru was transported to Barton Memorial, but he later died at the hospital, according to 2 News.
The cause of the fatal crash on Pioneer Trail, as well as liability, has yet to be determined.
