 Fatal Crash Rancho Santa Fe on Via de la Valle and Las Palomas

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. (Feb. 21, 2023) — A 19-year-old man died and another teen was injured in a solo-vehicle crash into a tree on Sunday on Via de la Valle in Rancho Santa Fe.

The young man driving a Toyota Camry reportedly veered off the roadway around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 19th, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.

It’s unknown at this time what led up to the traffic accident at this time, however, the vehicle caught on fire.

The motorist died at the scene and has not been identified. However, an Encinitas teen traveling with him survived with burns and other moderate injuries. Paramedics transported the young person to a hospital for treatment and he is expected to survive.

Meanwhile, authorities closed down the roadway and are conducting an investigation into what led to the Rancho Santa Fe crash.
