Fatal 2-Vehicle Crash on Rohnert Park Expressway
ROHNERT PARK, Calif. (Sept. 23, 2022) — A head-on crash on the Rohnert Park Expressway happened Friday afternoon at Stoney Point Road, just south of Santa Rosa.
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 1:53 p.m. on Sept. 23rd in the Rohnert Park area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a gray Honda SUV and a white Ford Ranger pickup truck collided when one of the vehicles veered into the path of the other one.
Two people became trapped in a vehicle following the collision. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate them from the vehicle. At least one person died in the collision and another got transported to a hospital.
Both of the vehicles involved suffered major front-end damage in the collision.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
