
Deadly Collision on State Route 35/Skyline Boulevard
SAN MATEO COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 21, 2025) — A fatal crash happened Monday on Skyline Boulevard or State Route 35 at Spring Ridge Trail in Portola Valley.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 5:34 p.m. on Jan. 20th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported one person died and at least one other person suffered major injuries in the crash involving a yellow Porsche sports car and a grey Toyota sports sedan. The Toyota may have also caught on fire following the accident.
The collision prompted a SigAlert and police closed down both directions of SR-35. Also, both vehicles were towed for evidence.
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office responded and they are heading up an investigation into what happened to determine fault.
