Deadly Crash Involving Pickup with Horse Trailer in Ricardo
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (May 13, 2022) — A fatal crash on State Route 14 near Abbott Drive involved a pickup truck pulling a horse trailer in the Ricardo area of Kern County.
The collision occurred about 4:40 p.m. on May 12th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles including the pickup truck and a sedan collided due to unknown circumstances. Multiple injuries and one fatality was reported following the collision.
Also, a horse riding in the trailer suffered injuries in the collision, the CHP said.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office and Kern County Fire Department responded to the collision to help those involved. Animal control officers also came to the crash scene for the horse.
There are no further details about the fatal crash at this time.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault.
