One Dead, One Injured in Corona Crash on SR-71 at 91 Freeway
CORONA, Calif. (August 15, 2022) — A fatal Corona crash on state Route 71 (Chino Hills Freeway) happened early Monday, just north of the Riverside (91) Freeway.
The crash occurred at 2:27 a.m. on August 15th on the northbound 71 near the Riverside (91) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision and one went off the roadway into a ditch. The CHP report stated that a woman in the vehicle was unresponsive following the collision. Meanwhile, the second vehicle was in the No. 2 lane of the freeway.
The Corona Fire Department responded to the scene and declared at least one person dead. A second person suffered injuries in the crash. They were reportedly transported by air ambulance the person to Pomona Valley Hospital in unknown condition.
Furthermore, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the collision. Tow trucks removed two vehicles for evidence.
