Semi-Truck, Minivan Crash on Highway 138; Vehicle Over Cliff
San Bernardino County, Calif. (Jan. 19, 2022) — A fatal crash on State Route Highway 138 happened Wednesday morning near Angeles Crest Highway in the Pinon Hills and Phelan area.
A dark-colored minivan and a semi-truck collided due to unknown circumstances about 6:19 a.m. on Jan. 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The minivan reportedly went off the westbound side of the highway and down a cliff.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office responded as well as paramedics and firefighters. Sadly, at least one person died in the collision. Paramedics pronounced the person dead at the scene.
Also, there was about 40 gallons of motor oil spilled from the truck and debris from the crash in the roadway.
Finally, authorities requested the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
Investigators are working on liability for the fatal crash Highway 138. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the person or people who died.
