One Killed, One Injured in Crash on Sunrise Boulevard
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. (June 24, 2022) — A fatal crash last Saturday happened at Sunrise Boulevard near Gold Country Boulevard in Rancho Cordova.
The deadly collision occurred just before 2 a.m. on June 18, 2022, according to the city of Rancho Cordova and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Communication Center.
Witnesses reported a vehicle occupied by two people crashed into a tree on southbound Sunrise Boulevard due to unknown circumstances.
Rancho Cordova police officers and sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. Also, the Sacramento Metro Fire District sent paramedics to help those hurt in the crash.
They located a female adult driver and an adult male passenger suffering from major injuries.
Paramedics transported both people by ambulances to a local hospital, but the woman later died from her injuries. Authorities did not release her name and age. Meanwhile, the unidentified man is expected to recover.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine the cause of the accident.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s office will identify the woman after relatives are notified.
