Clovis Teen Killed, 2 Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash in Fresno
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (April 6, 2022) — A fatal crash at Temperance and North avenues happened early Wednesday morning in Fresno County.
The deadly crash happened about 12:30 a.m. on April 6th, just southeast of Fresno city limits, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers are investigating what led up to the Fresno County collision.
A driver in a Toyota RAV 4 SUV allegedly failed to stop at the intersection, police said. The SUV reportedly drove into the path of an oncoming Toyota Corolla. The car struck the passenger side of the SUV, causing the larger vehicle to overturn in a nearby dirt field, police said.
A 19-year-old passenger in the SUV was not wearing his seat belt, police said. The Clovis teen was ejected from the vehicle and he died at the scene. The Fresno County Sheriff Coroner identified the victim as Gourav, 19, of Clovis.
Investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs are factors in the crash.
