
Man, 40, Killed in Crash with Wrong-Way Driver
VAN NUYS, Calif. (Aug. 7, 2023) – A 40-year-old man died in a fatal crash with a wrong-way driver at Victory Boulevard and Columbus Avenue in Van Nuys.
The traffic accident occurred at around 10:55 p.m. on Sunday, August 6th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The two-vehicle collision occurred after one of the drivers traveling in the wrong direction collided with the victim’s vehicle.
Fatal Crash Victory Boulevard in Van Nuys
Authorities reported the wrong-way driver was a 24-year-old man who was traveling eastbound on Victory Boulevard.
The vehicle crossed over into westbound traffic lanes and hit a vehicle driven by a 40-year-old man. The older man suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the suspected wrong-way driver stopped and cooperated with authorities and the investigation.
