
Deadly Crash Involving Car and SUV on Highway 132 Near Empire
MODESTO COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 21, 2023) — A fatal two-vehicle crash on Yosemite Boulevard and Geer Road happened early Tuesday morning between Empire and Waterford in Stanislaus County.
The deadly crash occurred on State Route 132 also known as Yosemite Boulevard at around 1:36 a.m. on Nov. 21st, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 32-year-old Denair man was driving a purple Ford sedan when he allegedly drove through a red light at the intersection and T-boned a fire investigator’s gray Ford Explorer SUV, the report said. The Denair man was thrown from his vehicle and died at the scene, the Modesto Bee reports. Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.
The man’s car came to a rest on the right shoulder against a gas station parking lot wall.
Meanwhile, the Ford SUV sustained major damage on its right side.
The driver from the SUV suffered minor injuries and was transported to Doctors Medical Center.
Investigators are working on the case, but it’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the car accident.
