Delano Man Killed, Passenger Injured
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 11, 2023) – A fatal crash on Zachary Road happened Sunday morning at County Line Road in Tulare County.
The solo-vehicle crash occurred around 2:25 a.m. on Sept. 10th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 35-year-old Delano man died in the collision and a second person suffered injuries, the report said.
CHP officers responded to the collision on Zachary Road at County Line Road, near Delano, the report said.
They determined a driver in a Honda was heading north on Zachary Road towards County Line Road, Your Central Valley News reports. However, the motorist allegedly failed to stop or slow down at a posted stop sign. The vehicle subsequently crashed into a fence and metal poles on the shoulder.
Investigators say the driver of a Honda was traveling northbound on Zachary Road at an unknown speed, approaching County Line Road.
The DeLano man driving the vehicle died at the scene. However, his passenger in the front seat next to him survived with minor injuries.
Paramedics transported the person to a hospital.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the fatal crash on Zachary Road.
