Fatal Culver City Pedestrian Accident on 405 Freeway Transition Road

Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Culver City

CULVER CITY, Calif. (June 27, 2025) – A fatal Culver City pedestrian accident happened Friday morning on the transition road connecting southbound San Diego (405) Freeway and westbound Marina (90) Freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch the collision occurred around 4:25 a.m. on June 27th when a driver in an Infiniti sedan hit the unidentified person.

The Culver City Fire Department responded and by 4:42 a.m. the pedestrian was confirmed dead at the scene, the CHP said. Their identity has not been released.

Police closed down the transition road and issued a SigAlert.

Meanwhile, the southbound 405 was backed up with heavy traffic all the way to Venice Boulevard, impacting traffic for morning commuters.
