 Fatal Dana Point Car Accident Interstate 5 Freeway, Pacific Coast Highway

Deadly Rollover Crash on I-5 Freeway and PCH

DANA POINT, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2024) — A fatal rollover car accident involving a camper van conversion vehicle happened Thursday morning on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway at PCH in Dana Point.

The deadly crash occurred at around 3:27 a.m. on Jan. 4th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the rollover crash left a driver trapped inside. Paramedics with Orange County Fire Authority responded to help those injured, but sadly the driver from the van died on scene.

Police issued a SigAlert for at least an hour and closed down the PCH off ramp due to the collision.

A tow truck removed the camper van from the roadway.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the accident on the 5 Freeway in Dana Point.
