1 Dead, 1 Injured in Crash on Fourth Street
EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Dec. 20, 2018) — A suspected drunken driver exiting the 60 Pomona Freeway on the Indiana Street exit crashed on Fourth Street, killing a passenger in the 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse.
The California Highway Patrol reported the multi-vehicle collision began on the westbound Pomona Freeway. The driver in the Mitsubishi was reportedly traveling at high speeds upon exiting the freeway at Indiana Street. The driver sideswiped a 2005 Ford Mustang at the bottom of the off ramp. He kept driving and allegedly ran through a stop sign, before entering Fourth Street. Next, he struck a parked 2009 Honda Odyssey that was parked on Fourth Street. After that he struck a tree and finally came to a stop.
A passenger in the Mitsubishi was killed in the crash. Meanwhile, the driver was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Police determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol at
the time of the crash.

At this time, it appears that the driver of the Mitsubishi is going to be held responsible for the death of his passenger.
A full investigation into what led to the crash is underway, but it’s unknown if criminal charges will be filed.
