SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 30, 2024) — A 69-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident late Saturday while crossing Skyline Drive in Encanto.
The San Diego Police Department reported the victim was using a walker to cross the road outside of a marked crosswalk.
A 27-year-old man driving westbound in a 2023 Hyundai Sonata struck the man around 11:05 p.m. on Dec. 28th, near Omeara Street and O’Farrell Charter School.
Paramedics responded to the scene, but the man died before they could transport him to a hospital, police said.
Investigators working on the case do not suspect alcohol and or drugs were not a factor in the collision.
