Man Struck and Killed Near Leucadia State Beach
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 11, 2025) — A 60-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident Sunday night on Jupiter Street near Leucadia State Beach in Encinitas, San Diego County.
An 84-year-old man driving a sedan hit the victim due to unknown circumstances in the 100 block of Jupiter Street in Encinitas at about 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
FATAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT IN ENCINITAS
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured man to a hospital, however, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. The identity of the man will be released after his family has been notified.
Meanwhile, the motorist did not report any injuries after the accident, police said.
There is an investigation underway by North Coastal Station Traffic Investigators and the Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team, authorities said.
At this time, police do not know if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the fatal Encinitas pedestrian accident on Jupiter Street.
