Man, 20, Killed in Crash on Valley Parkway in Escondido
ESCONDIDO, Calif. (Oct. 1, 2021) — A fatal Escondido crash happened Wednesday night on Valley Parkway.
A 20-year-old man died and three teenagers are hospitalized following the solo-vehicle crash.
The deadly crash happened around 11:43 p.m. on Valley Parkway, just south of Claudan Road, according to California Highway Patrol.
A 17-year-old Escondido boy was driving a 2000 Honda Prelude with four passengers.
The passengers included another 17-year-old boy, two 18-year-old boys, and a 20-year-old man.
It’s unknown at this time why the driver veered his car to the right and went off the roadway. That’s where they Honda crashed into a raised curb, light pole, and tree, the report said.
Meanwhile, the CHP, along with the Escondido police and fire departments responded.
Sadly, the 20-year-old man suffered severe injuries and was pronounced deceased upon their arrival.
Furthermore, the other three who were injured got transported to a hospital.
Investigators seek to determine the cause of the crash.
