Fatal Motorcycle, Semi-Truck Crash on I-15 Freeway
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2021) — A fatal Escondido motorcycle crash on the Interstate 15 Freeway Wednesday happened just south of State Route 76.
UPDATE: Daniel Robert Boyd, 36, of Riverside, was the motorcycle rider killed on the I-15 Freeway.
The traffic accident happened about 11:25 a.m. on Sept. 15th at the freeway interchange near Fallbrook, theCHP said.
The California Highway Patrol reported the motorcycle collided with a semi-truck in the slow lane. The bike went down on the right side of the freeway, near the Lilac Road bridge underpass. It’s unknown if the truck driver stopped or not.
Fatal Escondido Motorcycle Crash
Police and paramedics responded to the scene about a half mile north of Highway 395. They located the motorcyclist who was most likely pronounced dead at the scene, but there are no specific details.
The freeway reopened to traffic about 12:33 p.m. following the fatal Escondido motorcycle crash.
