Fatal Eureka Car Accident at Henderson Street and I Street

Deadly, 2-Vehicle Crash at Henderson and I Streets

EUREKA, Calif. (Nov. 10, 2023) — A fatal Eureka car accident happened Tuesday afternoon at Henderson Street and I Street.

One of the two vehicles involved overturned in the Nov. 7th collision, according to a report by North Coast Journal.

investigators believe the driver of the overturned vehicle was heading northbound on I Street before they allegedly drove through a red traffic light at Henderson Street. A second car traveling westbound on Henderson Street crashed into the first vehicle.

The first vehicle overturned and both its driver and passenger became trapped.

The Eureka Police Department and paramedics responded to the scene to help those involved and rescued the driver from the overturned vehicle. The person was taken to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries. However, a passenger in the car sustained fatal injuries. There were no other injuries reported from the second car.

Authorities investigating the crash are working to determine if the driver in the first vehicle was under the influence of alcohol and or drugs.
