Pedestrian Struck, Killed on I-80 in Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2024) — A fatal Fairfield pedestrian accident happened Thursday morning in the eastbound lanes of the Interstate 80 Freeway, just west of the Air Base Parkway off ramp.
The traffic accident occurred around 4:49 a.m. on Nov. 14th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Police and paramedics responded and located the pedestrian down in traffic lanes with major injuries, however, the person died at the scene.
The driver involved stopped and told authorities the person ran in front of their vehicle.
Investigators closed down the freeway to conduct an investigation that is expected to last at least two hours, the report said.
