Pedestrian Struck, Killed on I-80 Freeway Near Travis Boulevard
FAIRFIELD, Calif. (Aug. 4, 2022) — A fatal Fairfield pedestrian accident happened early Thursday morning on the westbound Interstate 80 Freeway near Travis Boulevard.
The California Highway Patrol reported the initial crash at 1:53 a.m. on August 4th, just west of Travis Boulevard. A driver in a dark blue Acura TL reportedly struck the victim who was crossing lanes towards the center divider, the report said.
Meanwhile, a second motorist in a white Mercedes also struck the victim and had blood on her vehicle, the report said. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
Both motorists are cooperating with authorities and the investigation. A tow truck removed the Acura with moderate front-end damage for evidence.
Police issued a SigAlert due to the crash and investigation.
