Possible Pedestrian Hit-and-run Crash Near Fallbrook
FALLBROOK, Calif. (May 28, 2021) — A fatal Fallbrook hit-and-run crash happened Friday on the Interstate 15 Freeway near Old Highway 395.
A male pedestrian got struck by a truck about 10:25 a.m. on May 28th near Fallbrook, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a a white sedan, Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Chevrolet truck stopped to help the victim. A truck driver reportedly left the crash scene and left behind a right side mirror amongst the debris in the roadway. The mirror may belong to a Freightliner semi tractor trailer truck, but the investigation is ongoing.
Also, the person got hit by the vehicle on the southbound side of the freeway. Additionally, other motorists pulled over to help the victim before firefighters and paramedics arrived.
Meanwhile, the male pedestrian died in the collision, however, the circumstances are unknown at this time.
Investigators are piecing together evidence to determine liability for the fatal Fallbrook crash.
