1 Dead, 1 Hurt
SAN DIEGO, California (May 1, 2016) – A fatal fiery multi-vehicle crashed resulted in the death of Ulises Plascencia-Roque, 35 occurred Sunday morning on the 8 Freeway near San Diego State University, according to UT San Diego.
A California Highway Patrol officer said that at about 4:45 a.m., Ulises Plascencia-Roque was driving a BMW eastbound on I-8 when for unknown reasons he veered into the center median and he slammed into a concrete barrier.
Subsequently, an 18-year-old man driving a Ford F-150 hit the BMW, west of College Avenue.
Ulises Plascencia-Roque was ejected from his BMW as it rolled over and then caught fire.
As per UT San Diego, CHP added that the 25-year-old man landed in the roadway and was eventually hit by a Chevrolet Silverado which swerved and crashed onto the right side of the freeway.
Meanwhile, the Ford driver was unharmed while the motorist of the Chevrolet was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
Per NBC News San Diego, as the investigation remains ongoing it has been confirmed that alcohol was likely involved
