Deadly Crash in Fillmore Kills One, Injures Four Children
FILLMORE, Calif. (July 3, 2025) — A violent multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday night claimed the life of one woman and left at least four children injured near the heart of Fillmore, according to local authorities.
The collision occurred around 8:45 p.m. on July 2nd at the intersection of Highway 126 and D Street, said Ventura County Sheriff’s Capt. Jason Karol. At least two vehicles were involved in the crash, with the possibility of a third, though that remains under investigation.
One woman was pronounced dead at the scene. While some reports have suggested additional fatalities, Capt. Karol said he could not confirm more than one death as of Wednesday.
Four children were among the injured and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, some in critical condition, Karol added.
The California Highway Patrol and Caltrans assisted with traffic control while sheriff’s deputies conducted the investigation, which temporarily disrupted movement through the area.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
