Man Struck, Killed on Highway 50 in Folsom
Folsom, California (August 12, 2021) – A fatal Folsom pedestrian accident happened early Thursday morning on Highway 50.
The collision took place about 2:45 a.m. on the highway near Prairie City Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
An eastbound vehicle struck a man after he exited his vehicle following a solo crash on the westbound side of Highway 50, police said.

It’s unknown what led up to the initial crash where the man collided into the center divider on the westbound side of the highway.
Meanwhile, the man suffered major injuries and died at the scene. Authorities did not release the man’s name.
The driver of the involved vehicle stopped and cooperated with authorities, the CHP said in its report.
Investigators with the highway patrol seek to determine the cause of the fatal Folsom pedestrian accident.
Witnesses may contact the California Highway Patrol to assist detectives with their investigation.
