FONTANA, Calif. (Jan. 23, 2023) — A fatal Fontana car accident happened early Monday on the Interstate 10 Freeway, just east of Sierra Avenue.
The deadly crash occurred about 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 23rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a silver Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, a white Mazda and a black Dodge Ram pickup were reportedly involved, the CHP report said.
Police found the white sedan and one of the pickup trucks in the middle of the roadway and the Tacoma went off the road and down an embankment. One person with injuries was laying on the right side of the roadway. Debris was scattered across traffic lanes and authorities located at least two injured people.
Paramedics responded and pronounced at least one person dead at the scene. An ambulance transported at least one other person to a hospital in unknown condition.
Meanwhile, tow trucks came to remove the damaged vehicles including the Tacoma with major front-end damage.
