Woman Struck, Killed on I-880 Freeway in Fremont
FREMONT, Calif. (August 11, 2022) — A woman was struck and killed early Thursday morning by an unknown motorist on the Interstate 880 Freeway just south of the Fremont Boulevard off ramp.
The California Highway Patrol reported a woman was found dead on the side of the freeway about 1:45 a.m. on August 11th.
Her body was located on the right side of northbound Interstate 880 Freeway, according to East Bay Times.
Arriving medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
CHP investigators believe a large vehicle such as a semi-truck may have struck the woman and kept driving without knowing they hit someone.
However, there have been no attempts by drivers to contact the CHP so far. Authorities are asking anyone who drove past the area to check their vehicles for damage.
