Bicycle Rider Killed in Crash at Herndon and Blackstone Avenues
FRESNO, Calif. (May 24, 2022) — A fatal Fresno bicycle accident happened early Tuesday morning at Herndon and Blackstone avenues in north Fresno.
The deadly crash occurred just before 5:30 a.m. on May 24th at the Fresno intersection, according to ABC 30 News.
A 74-year-old man riding a bicycle went down in the middle of the roadway. Police and paramedics arrived at the scene and located the victim suffering from serious injuries. Despite efforts to save his life, the man died a short time later. Authorities did not release his name at this time.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the crash.
The driver involved in the collision stopped and is cooperating with the investigation.
Police are working to determine if drugs or alcohol were factors in the Fresno bike crash.
Authorities closed down eastbound Herndon Avenue at Maroa Avenue and southbound Blackstone Avenue for roughly three hours.
